Agents are you still relying on a "company" Web page to bring you business? Does your company promote it's Web site as the "great solution" to getting internet exposure for you?

People get real! Brokers are mainly interested in self promotion of the company image. If you want to capitalize on buyers and sellers surfing the Net (89% of them do) then you need to ditch the mentality of having just a company Web page as being good enough to bring in business to YOU. They usually don't. And I specifically include the most touted and over priced real estate Web site... realtor.com. Why you ask?:

bulletSurfers can lose you once they get to a company site.. especially on realtor.com.
bulletLeads that are supposed to come to you... may or may not... it's a crap shoot!
bulletMany companies now charge referral fees to their own agents for leads coming from the company Web site.
bulletWhen you advertise the company Web site in your printed ads you are actually paying your money to drive business there and stand the chance of losing that business to another agent... not real smart!

Agents who want to get more solid internet leads... have their own Web site and make that Web site the main focus of their advertising. Sure, use the company Web site, as long as it doesn't cost you anything but also have Web presence in your own distinctive personal site. That way you just might make some money.
